Offsetting your carbon footprint
Carbon offsetting is like going to the confession box for the sins you committed! Only here, instead of just asking for forgiveness for the amount of gas emitted by you, you can actually adopt a place anywhere in the world and pledge to make that place greener. There are a few sites that offer people places in Kenya or other parts, which can be bought and then a whole forest may be grown in that area from your donation.
This is like a counter attack to the problem. If you are emitting greenhouse gases, you are also growing more trees to nullify the negative effect.
At this point, a word of caution. You should verify that the company or site you are buying your offsetting program from, is certified and not a fraud. Also that the offsetting program is full traceable by you anywhere you may be living.
Offsetting is clearly not the solution but an option to give nature a chance to survive amidst all the pollution and filth created by us.
