New Car Engine Sends Shock Waves Through Auto Industry

Michigan State University associate professor of mechanical engineering Norbert Mueller describes his Wave Disk Generator, for which he has received a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to build a prototype new engine and generator technology that can dramatically improve efficiencies and reduce costs of electric hybrid vehicles.

Could Highways be source of green energy?

Could highways one day be a constant source of green energy? One Innowattech wants to make this happen. And after doing some reading on their site their also working on pedestrian tiles & railroad energy tiles too. And with the lifespan of an energy tile lasting 6-12yrs, this could be a really good & green investment for select high traffic areas. Demo video from Innowattech below.

The Latest On Green Cars

In this "Earth Watch" segment from the Weather Channel, meteorologist Carl Parker has the latest on the new environmentally friendly vehicles. The video talks about the Chevy Volt & the Nissan Leaf. Both cars also qualify for a federal tax credits when purchasing. And with gas prices constantly on the rise, buying a electric car probably isn't a bad idea for some.
