Explore the great outdoors…HIKE

Hiking is for everyone. Yes, everyone, not just the young college graduates or the adventurous honeymooners but also for the moms who work non-stop to cater to their family needs, the men who work hard to earn every single penny every day of the week, the teenagers at the crossroads of school or college, the people who are fighting the post-retirement blues.

Hiking is actually a very good way of exercising without doing much, because you can walk as much as you want to and camp anywhere when the feet get tired. The greatest thing is to leave the monotonous urban life behind and feel what goodness nature has in store for you.

If you are new to hiking, here are a few tips to remember.

1.If you are new to the concept, take a short easy track.
2.Find out as much as you can about the course you are taking or the area you are going, like the flora and fauna of the place, weather conditions etc.
3.You may have to climb a hill, or wade through water, so know in advance about these things and take necessary equipments for that.
4.Take a trip that suits your fitness level.
5.Do not hike alone. Go with a friend if not a group and do keep the information about where you are going, and for how long handy at home.
6.If planning a few days of hiking, inform the park ranger or someone similar about the route you would be taking.
7.Make sure you wear comfortable clothes that are easy on the body and lightweight.
8.Choosing good shoes for hiking is as important as the route itself. If you are planning for a longer hike, prefer to take hiking boots.

9.Take plenty of water with you.
10.Pack some healthy, energizing snacks.

11.A first aid kit is an important part of the backpack.
12.A map of the area and a compass are also essential.
13.For starters, best hiking is on the hiking tracks of national parks.
14.If you want a little more adventure join a group or go with a very experienced friend.
15.The MOST important hiking rule is to hike on a track that is easy rather than hard for you whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker.

Venture out. Enjoy nature in the best way possible with family and friends.
