7 things to do before you discard your toothbrush

Well, we all know how toothbrushes, although an essential part of our everyday life, are made of plastic and considering the amount of people living in this planet and considering they all change their toothbrush once every 6 months, imagine the pile of tooth brushes going into the garbage bin every day!

So what can you do to prolong the life of a toothbrush? I am not saying use the same old brush for eternity. That will probably make a cleaner environment but not very clean teeth. Here are some things you can do with the very handy brush before throwing it away,

Keyboard cleaners – The spaces between the keys are cleaned quite well with a toothbrush and don’t take much time too.

Spray painting brushes – Give them to your kids and see how the once waste tooth brush can be dipped in paint and then used as a brush to spray paint with hand, in an around stencils. This is a really loads of fun, something adults can try out too. The affect is just amazing.

Varnishing or polishing brushes – To apply a coat of warmish to your wooden furniture, why get a new brush when you have a toothbrush. Just dip and start working.

Cleaning machine parts – Be it your old grinder that needs some cleaning, a car’s engine, or a sewing machine, the toothbrush with its easy to grip handle can go inside any small parts and help clean the dirt.

Shine your pet’s coat – After a hard day’s play when its time to clean your pet dog or kitten’s coat, nothing can come in more useful than a toothbrush. The bristles work amazingly well in removing the dirt or flea and bringing back the shine to your dear pet’s fur.

Shine your own coat – Well, you think of wearing your corduroy coat for the party but it has tiny thread or hair on it. The toothbrush can be easily used on a rush hour to make the coat absolutely clean.

Polishing ornaments – Sometimes the ornaments, be it gold, silver or artificial jewelry need a bit of a polish to bring back the dazzle. The waste toothbrushes are very effective for this purpose. Dab in water or vinegar and polish the surface of your precious jewel for the renewed glitter.

Can think of any more ideas? Just add on to the list…..
